POKÉMON THEMED HOTEL/APARTMENT ROOMS!

Pokemon Themed Rooms at Mimaru : Accommodation in Japan for families

If you’ve followed my blog for a while you have surely heard all about how highly I recommend the hotel/apartment brand APARTMENT HOTEL MIMARU for families on holidays in Japan ( you can read my most blog post here where I show photographs and speak about all the benefits for young families in great detail. )
Their apartments are possibly the most easy recommendation for beautiful and practical accommodation for those visiting with children and … it’s as if they have taken it all up 20 notches by adding brand new themed rooms in several of their Tokyo and Kyoto branches.
If you’re confused as to which Mimaru Tokyo option might best suit your family, see my blog post on Which Mimaru location is best for families? blog post here.

And the theme??
Pokémon, of course !!  ( You don’t get more “I’M IN JAPAN!!!” than that, really!)

Should you decide to make a reservation for the Pokémon rooms there are still many rooms available between now and December 2020 in Kyoto and Tokyo.
Extra booking tip: It is easiest to book on a device other than an iPhone.   Click “book now” and then click on “Special Codes or Rates” (blue text.)

If you have a Pokémon-crazed family member I highly recommend taking a look and perhaps even keeping this as the first or last few nights of the holidays?   Or perhaps as a surprise for a birthday?  Or… dare I say… bribery for being so helpful during the trip?

These themed rooms have all the beautiful elements of the normal everyday APARTMENT HOTEL MIMARU rooms:

– bunk beds
– a double or twin beds (depending on the room type, of course)
– a separate area for dining/ playing games/ writing and reading/watching tv on the projected screen
– a kitchenette with hot plates and a refrigerator (this always saves me a fortune on meals and snacks for kids!)
– all cooking ware and plates and cutlery provided
– a private Japanese ensuite and bathroom ( with a beautiful, deep Japanese tub)
– access to a coin washing machine and dryer within the hotel
– English-speaking hotel staff ( who also share information on current festivals and workshops as well as assistance with luggage forwarding and restaurant reservations. I also like knowing that there is someone there to help if the kids get sick or I need help with directions.)

Here are some pictures of the non-themed rooms ( aren’t they just so beautiful and a gorgeous use of space?)
If you would like to see more pictures and room / facility details, I recommend reading my APARTMENT HOTEL MIMARU blog post here all about our 5 night stay with kids.

But if you REALLY WANT TO MIX IT UP and add Pokémon into the mix…  the attention to detail within these themed rooms makes it feel just so special!

First of all is the giant Snorlax ( or Kabigon if you watch in Japanese) plushie toy just waiting there on the bed! (I’ve heard that his name is Relaxo, in German, which is very fitting too!)

Then the detailed decals on the walls and even the clock is in theme!!!!

I was also delighted to see that the plates and mug cups were also matching.

And this was me having too much fun with the instagram story gifts.

When you check into this special room, you will receive an adorable welcome card and a facewasher handkerchief ( note: the designs for these cloths differ depending on whether you are in Kyoto or Tokyo.  So if you stay in each location you will be able to take home both options.)  There is also a cute little drawstring bag ( that I now use for snacks for school lunches and my friend uses hers for tissues and wet wipe packets for her handbag.)

The cost is a little bit higher for a Pokémon room than a non-themed room at APARTMENT HOTEL MIMARU but I think, as a special treat, this would be the holiday memory of a lifetime for a little Pokémon fan.

Another idea?
Why not stay in a non-themed “normal”  room and then switch to a Pokémon themed option for the final night? The staff are happy to help you relocate.

Should you decide to make a reservation for the Pokémon rooms there are still many rooms available between now and December 2020 in Kyoto and Tokyo.  Use the code word “visitmimaru” when booking via this APARTMENT HOTEL MIMARU link here.   The code offers a discount, although the discounted rate varies depending on the season.
