NARITA AEON SHOPPING MALL

NARITA AEON SHOPPING MALL

The Narita Aeon Shopping Mall is frequented by tourists – mainly as most of the Narita Airport Hotels offer free shuttles to this local shopping centre.
As there are so many international tourists here – the shops and restaurants here are very much “English-friendly.”

This is the complimentary shuttle bus from Hotel MyStays Premier Narita and the Art Hotel (they share a shuttle) to the Aeon Mall Narita.

The food court (titled the “Food Forest”) here is pretty good and is.a great opportunity to try some of the foods you missed before you leave Japan.
I recommend using dining here to try tendon (tempura coated in a sweet and savoury marinade and served on rice.)

The fresh seafood food court restaurant Inase-an also sells unagi (marinated cooked eel on rice) for under 1600 yen (usually Unagi is a lot more expensive- although this isn’t the finest quality, of course – being a food court restaurant and all.)   I also like their chirashizushi bowl. You can see images of the menu options at Inase-An here.

“Inase-an” sells sashimi bowls and unagi.

My daughter also loves the hamburger steak and the steak from Texas King Steak at the food court too.

This shopping centre also has arcade games, a large Daiso (100 yen shops) and lots of local clothing brands.

Kirby Arcade Game (pump air into the pit and try and get as many balls into Kirby’s mouth.)

There is a small playcentre cafe called Zoo Adventure on the ground floor too.

We also love the retro sweet shop called 1-Chome 1-bangai.

There is a drugstore near the food court called Welcia and I bought these items there.
Salted Caramels & Baby Foot
Sorry to lump these random recommendations together.  This brand of caramels is just so good (they are sold in smaller packs too but this is the “gift box” I found in the drugstore “Welcia.”
The Baby Foot is a foot mask that you wear for a few hours and days later the hard skin on your foot peels right off. It looks so gross while it’s happening but your feet are so smooth afterwards!
If you like my shopping in Japan and my souvenir recommendations for Japan – you will LOVE this blog post here.

Welcia also stocks lots of nappies / diapers.

See here for other sightseeing spots to explore in Narita and here for my recommended airport hotels in the Narita area.

If you need to buy a stroller, this shopping mall a good place to find an option that won’t break the bank.

If you are looking for a great value sit-down restaurant, I recommend Bakery & Restaurant Saint Marc on the ground floor (near Starbucks.)

This is a restaurant where you order your meal and also enjoy all you can eat bread!
This restaurant accepts most major credit cards. They have a place to store your stroller while you dine.
There is also a kid’s menu that inclues options like a kid’s Japanese curry, macaroni gratin or children’s doria with potato wedges, broccoli and tomatoes, mini hamburgers served with wedges and salad and also a kid’s bento plate that has a piece of chicken, a burger patty, some broccoli, tomato and corn with wedges with some small jellies.   Kids meals are all under 1000 yen.
The meals for adults are mostly steaks and hamburger steaks served on sizzling hot plates or pastas or salads and main dishes can come as an all you can eat bread or rice set.  You can also pay a few hundred yen extra and make use of the all you can drink softdrink and juice bar.

And just across from Saint Marc you will see Tonkatsu restaurant Tonkatsu Wako.
The restaurant sits 70 people and they don’t take reservations. They do accept most major credit cards.
See the full Tonkatsu Wako menu in English here.  And the adorable kids menu plates here.  Each kids meal comes with a small toy.

There is also pizza and pasta chain restaurant “Capricciosa” just across from Tonkatsu Wako.  They accept most major credit cards here.
They have plastic plates and cutlery for kids. They also have high chairs and they allow parents to bring in their own baby food. They are also happy to prepare hot water for formula.  I would budget 1500-2000 yen per adult to each here.
See the pictures of the full Capricciosa menu here (tap the red font along the top to see the pasta and salads and desserts too.
