I get asked about how to go about buying Tokyo Disneyland and Disneysea tickets all of the time.
*Note : it is not possible to buy tickets for both Disneyland and Disneysea for the same day (ie. you can’t jump between parks without purchasing two sets of tickets.)
**Note: Kids under 4 are free! No ticket required.

It is NOT possible to buy tickets for Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo Disneysea at the gate. This is why their crowd prediction calendars are so accurate.
*Please note that the new section of TOKYO DISNEYSEA ( Tangled and Frozen and Peter Pan section called “Fantasy Springs” is opening on June 6th. If you decide to visit in June it can go one of two ways
1) If you are a hard core Disney fan and don’t mind waiting hours and hours – you could be one of the first people to enter this new section
2) The other areas of Tokyo Disneysea MAY be (no guarantee) less busy at this time before the focus with crowds will be on the new section so it could be a win-win if you deliberately avoid that new section
*Either way – tickets will be hard to get for this time (especially as annual passport holders will be all dying to go) so please remember to book early!
Can’t decide which park – Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo Disneysea is best for you? Read here as I break it all down to try to help.

Before you try to book tickets, I recommend reading my blog posts on Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea as I tell you how to use the crowd predictors to find out which days will be busier than others as well as our favourite ways to go about our disney days.
If you have checked the prediction calendars but don’t want to 100 percent commit to a particular day you don’t HAVE to book your tickets online (or before you arrive in Japan. )
Is there such a thing as buying discounted tickets for Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo Disneysea?
Oriental Land is the company who manages the Tokyo Disney Parks and they have strict policies on discounted tickets – even when it comes to their sponsors ! Disney in Japan has such a happy and captive market that they don’t need to try and get rid of their tickets – so a set price it is.
If someone offers you a discounted Tokyo Disney Ticket? I recommend looking into how legitimate the deal really is.
Once you have decided on a date, here are the options for buying Tokyo Disneyland and Disneysea tickets online:
-Using the Tokyo Disney Resort app
-The Tokyo Disney Resort Website. ( you will need to create a login to purchase but it’s not tricky from a language perspective or anything BUT I always get to the end with my Australian card and it won’t process. It drives me crazy. Many people have this problem with international credit cards- which is why I always go back to recommending either having a travel agent do it for you OR waiting until you arrive in Japan – although I do understand why this option makes many nervous.)
-Trip Advisor (see here for my direct affiliate link to buy tickets to Tokyo Disney)
-As part of a vacation package at a travel agency in your home country
-As past of a flight and ticket package with Japan Airlines
Once you are in Japan, you can buy Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disneysea tickets at:
-Klook
-Convenience Stores (may require a Japanese friend to assist if the staff are too busy to help you.) I always buy my tickets at Family Mart, 7-Eleven or Lawson – with a credit card
-The Disney Flagship store in Shinjuku
– Book at a Disney Hotel
– JR Ticket Counters
– Major Japanese Travel Agencies like JTB
– At the gate / Disney park entrances – although this can be extremely risky as you may miss out if the park is at capacity*Please note that Tokyo Disney Resort no longer sells tickets at their park gates.
