HOTELS NEAR NARITA AIRPORT WITH KIDS

HOTELS NEAR NARITA AIRPORT WITH KIDS

For days before or after travelling with kids, staying at a hotel near Narita is a good option.  Here are my family-friendly recommendations – including number of people that can sleep in each room and information about the hotel facilities.

Please note that this blog post contains affiliate links – meaning that, if you book accommodation using one of my links, I will receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.

Narita Tobu Hotel Airport
Some rooms here have up to 4 separate beds (you can fit more people if children are young enough to bed share.)
This hotel has a fitness centre (for 18 year olds and over.)  There also is an indoor pool but please note that children must be 3+ to swim and must be toilet trained (ie. no swim nappies.) Please note that the pool is open from 2pm-9:30pm (last entry at 9pm.)  *Japanese pool rules can be a big bummer*( I explain more here.)
There is a free shuttle between the airport terminals and the hotel. See the Narita Tobu Hotel Airport shuttle timetable here.  Technically you can also walk (if your luggage is small enough to pull along, that is) – it would take around 10 mins.

Hotel MyStays Premier Narita
This hotel is nothing flashy but they have everything you could need for a stay before flying out of Narita International Airport.  We made use of the luggage forwarding option to the hotel, the pool, the restaurant, the convenience store in the lobby and the shuttle bus to the closest major shopping mall (we took a cab on the way back as the timetable didn’t suit our return time – it cost 1500 yen.)
We also used their complimentary shuttle to the airport. It made everything SO easy.
This hotel has a complimentary shuttle to Narita AND to the local shopping mall Aeon Mall Narita.
Staying here, you will notice right away how much this hotel is used by pilots and cabin crew too. So many uniformed airline crew members in the lobby and using the airline lounges.

This is the complimentary shuttle bus from Hotel MyStays Premier Narita and the Art Hotel (they share a shuttle) to the Aeon Mall Narita.

This hotel also has a really decent buffet breakfast.  There is lots of salad, lots of Western and Japanese breakfast food options. There is also an omelette station that also has mac & cheese.

This hotel can help you organise luggage forwarding between hotels in Japan.  I sent 3 bags to this hotel – learn more about forwarding luggage in Japan here.

There is a Family Mart in the lobby which is so convenient (just for snacks but also for ducking down for extra things for the plane etc.)

My daughter eating Meat Sauce Pasta in the room at Hotel MyStays Premier Narita.  She is also wearing the pyjamas provided by the hotel.

Hotel MyStays Narita is one of the few places that has a pool that is operational all year round (Japan has some funny rules about hotel pools and I explain more about that here.)  This pool is only open from 3pm -8pm though and no tattoos allowed.  It does not cost extra for guests to use the pool.

The pool was definitely not fancy or anything but for kids who need a wriggle and a cool down? It was amazing.

Our room at Hotel MyStays Premier Narita. Certainly nothing to get excited about but it did the job for a hotel near Narita so we could relax, use the pool and so that we could send our luggage somewhere along the way. The staff here are also amazing and everyone speaks English so well here.
Our room at Hotel MyStays Premier Narita. Note the complimentary pyjamas for in-room use (for adults and kids.)

This hotel offers late check out for 2000 yen an hour (after 11am.) Totally worth it for us as we had a late night and I gave the kids long baths while I packed and got ready for a night flight.

The Art Hotel Narita
The Art Hotel Narita shares a shuttle to and from the airport and Narita Aeon Mall with Hotel MyStays Premier Narita.
This hotel is one of the more affordable of the Narita Airport Hotel options. They have an onsen – the first in Narita to use hot spring water for their onsen.  Like almost all onsen in Japan (guests can use the onsen facilities for 700 yen each)- no swimsuits allowed, of course.  Sorry but no tattoos either.
Children can also use the onsen but they must be toilet trained and they can only bathe with the parent of the opposite sex if they are under 7 years old.
Even those who are not staying at the hotel can use the complimentary shuttle to and from the airport and use the onsen for day-use.  This is a great option for before or after a flight.  The onsen is available for day-use between midday and 11pm. The cost for day-use is 1500 yen and 750 yen for kids under 12.

Rooms here cater for 2-4 people.
The in-house main restaurant specialises in “Farm to Table” produce so there are lots of vegetable and salad options here – even as a part of the breakfast buffet.   There is also a Japanese-Chinese fusion restaurant here.

The hotel has a convenience store (Family Mart) on the 2nd floor and they also have an in-house coin laundry.
June – Nov the often have outdoor dining bbq events – see their website for details.

ANA Crowne Plaza Narita
Unfortunately there aren’t rooms that fit more than 2 people (3 if you have children young enough to bed share) so you would need to book multiple rooms.
The hotel is a little bit old but it’s clean and the service is good.
This hotel has a swimming pool & fitness centre.
Please note that the swimming pool is closed every Wednesday.   Pool users must use a swimming cap.  Only potty trained children can use the pool at the ANA Crowne Plaza Narita.   Pool use is 1100 yen per person and those who have tattoos cannot use the pool.   *Japanese pool rules can be a big bummer*( I explain more here.)
There is a Family Mart convenience within the hotel too!
There is a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport. Here is the ANA Crowne Plaza Narita Shuttle timetable.  You can also take the shuttle the nearby Narita Aeon Shopping Mall.  There are 2 restaurants in the hotel.

Hotel Nikko Narita
Some rooms here can sleep up to 4 people (more if you have a child who is small enough to bed share.)  The rooms here are quite big (for Japan.)
The hotel is also able to organise connecting rooms for some room types.  Hotel Nikko Narita has an outdoor pool BUT it is only open for some parts of June, July and August.   The pool (during those months mentioned) is only available for kids who are potty trained and older (there is a small circle pool for kids who do need to wear swim nappies/swim diapers.)  The pool is strictly no tattoos and no rashguard vests. *Japanese pool rules can be a big bummer*( I explain more here.)
There is a convenience store “Lawson”* and a restaurant within the hotel.
This hotel provides pyjamas for guests to use during their stay.
There is a free shuttle from the hotel to the airport AND to the nearby Aeon Mall. Here is the free shuttle timetable from the Hotel Nikko Narita.

While at Lawson (convenience store brand) …
These fried chicken options are LIFESAVERS (especially if you have picky eaters with you.)
This one pictured below is available at Lawson convenience stores – it is called “Karage-Kun” (pronounced “ka-ra-ge-kun”) and inside contains approx 6 pieces of Japanese fried chicken. Be sure to get the REGULAR flavour and the other option is a bit spicy and one of the other flavours sometimes available contains cheese.  (see here for other Japanese convenience store tips and our favourite foods sold here in this blog post.)

Karage-kun. Sold at Lawson Convenience Stores (not sold at “Natural Lawson”)

I actually really rate Narita as a sightseeing spot – I explain my favourite Narita spots and why here.
