TOKYO DISNEY OFFICIAL HOTELS WITH KIDS

As I have mentioned here, there is no reason that you MUST stay at a Disney hotel if you already have an accommodation in Tokyo (it’s only 30-40 mins on the train by public transport)but I can also understand the appeal for being nice and close when kids are tired AND as a lovely family treat.

Please note that the official Tokyo Disney Resort hotels can be booked only 2 months in advance.

PLEASE NOTE THAT, SINCE THE OPENING OF FANTASY SPRINGS 2024, MANY OF THE RULES ABOUT EARLY ENTRY TO THE PARKS FOR HOTEL GUESTS HAVE CHANGED SO PLEASE CHECK CHECK CHECK BEFORE MAKING RESERVATIONS.
I’ve written realistic tips for visiting the new Fantasy Springs section as a family here.

Finding a hotel with cots/cribs in Japan for children older than 8 months old can sometime be tricky – I explain why and give options here.

Here are my Tokyo Disneyland tips and here are our tips for making the most of Tokyo DisneySea.
And I’ve broken down the differences here if you are having trouble deciding between Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disneysea – as it depends what you like and what you are after.

The Tokyo Disneyland Hotel
I have stayed at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel and have written in detail about it here.
The Tokyo Disneyland Hotel has a Beauty and the Beast room, Alice in Wonderland room and a Cinderella themed room.

The Disney Ambassador Hotel
Extremely high quality customer service.
Themed room options within this hotel are Minnie Mouse rooms, Donald Duck rooms and Chip’n’Dale rooms.
They have shuttle buses to the park as well as the monorail station close by.
Guests have 15 mins early entry to the parks. *Please note that early entry rules have changed since Fantasy Springs has opened. Please check before booking what the rules will be at the time you will stay here.
The Disney Ambassador Hotel is the hotel with the Chef Mickey breakfast too.
If you book the “Pyjama Party” plan after Nov 1, 2024, you can meet Minnie Mouse and with the “Playground” plan you can also meet Chip’N’Dale  (without even entering the Disney Parks.)
Please note that from Nov 2024, the “Ambassador Floors” and the “Ambassador Lounge” will no longer be an option – the standard and ambassador floors will all be one in the same (if you haven’t stayed here before and don’t know what I’m talking about – you can ignore this note entirely.)   The Ambassador Lounge will become the character greeting lounge for those with the Playground or Pyjama Party plans – as mentioned above.
The Disney Ambassador Hotel can organise for cribs / cots in the rooms – but only for children younger than 18 months of age.

The Fantasy Springs Resort
The new hotel Fantasy Springs Resort opens in Spring, 2024.   Many of the hotel packages include no-wait passes for three of the rides in the (yet to open) Fantasy Springs section of Tokyo DisneySea.
I have written about visiting Fantasy Springs with kids here

Tokyo DisneySea Hotel Miracosta
This is the only park with rooms and a lobby that actually looks into one of the Tokyo Disney Parks.  This hotel also has it’s own access gate for the park and guests can enter and reenter the park as they like (on days where they have a park ticket, of course.)
This is usually the most expensive of all the hotels – it is themed to look like an old world Italian hotel.

Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel
The rooms are themed to look like Andy’s bedroom.
This is known to be the most reasonably priced of all of the official hotels – but, for this reason, rooms do book out quickly.
Please note that only guests can enter the grounds of this hotel (some of the other hotels allow anyone to enter the lobby or use the gift shops etc but the Toy Story Hotel facilities can only be entered by staying guests.)

If you are staying at the Toy Story Hotel you can leave booking your tickets for the parks to the day of check in as they guarantee that you will be able to access the parks if you are a staying guest. The control freak in me could never just do it on the day or the day before but if you’re more chill than I am – go for it.
I have written in detail about our stay at the Toy Story Hotel in Tokyo here.

As you can see, the Hotel Okura Tokyo Bay and the Toy Story Hotel are just next to each other. See here for other hotels like the Hotel Okura Tokyo Bay that I recommend in the area.

Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel
The rooms here are simply decorated with a long disney themed poster along the room wall.
This hotel is one of the more affordable of the disney hotels (definitely not a “cheap” hotel though (if budget is a concern, I recommend looking at a hotel NEAR disney that isn’t one of the official hotels.)    Pyjamas and slippers are provided to guests for in-room use and the rooms all have beautifully themed disney artwork.    The breakfast is a “light breakfast buffet” and children get cute little mickey shaped plates.
This hotel has a free shuttle to Tokyo Disneyland and Disneysea
This hotel offers free luggage transfer between the disney hotels.

The Fantasy Springs Hotel
This hotel opened June 2024 and is currently the most difficult hotel to book.  The reason? Just hype and popularity.

The Tokyo Disney Package Vacations with kids
Vacation packages are expensive (usually around 80,000 yen per adult per night)  but include perks such as refillable drinks and the ability to skip the ride queues.
