The full name of this indoor play facility for kids is “Space Athletic Tondemi, Makuhari.”
This centre is within a large shopping complex called Aeon Mall Makuhari – such good shopping and a fabulous choice of restaurants.
There is also a Costco across the road.
Getting to Space Athletic Tondemi Makuhari
Aeon Mall Makuhari is 30 mins drive from the centre of Tokyo (if you are driving – you should also go to Ikea Makuhari while you’re out here!)
If you take public transport, it will take more like 45 minutes – use google maps to plan your exact route but usually it is easiest to take the Keiyo Line to Makuhari-Toyosuna Station and then walk for 10 mins.
When to visit Tondemi Makuhari?
If you can, come on the weekdays and avoid Japanese school holidays. If you do visit on a weekend, I recommend arriving first thing in the morning (and reserving your tickets online ahead of time – even just a few hours beforehand, even.)
