If you’re looking for something to eat after entering Universal Studios Japan (Osaka) I recommend the Universal Citywalk Dining and Shopping Street – literally right outside of the USJ main gates.

Here is my guide for while inside Universal Studios Japan.
THE NEW DONKEY KONG COUNTRY SECTION: Opened Dec 11.
It will be sooooo busy from Dec – June 2025 so please please please please get all the express passes you can (need to be purchased ahead of time.) With kids, I wouldn’t make promises that you will get to see this new land BUT you may get to see more of the others as the crowds will be focused on this section (great news for Super Nintendo World and Harry Potter fans!) I’ve written more about Donkey Kong Country here.
These restaurants are a mixture of Western and Japanese foods as well as convenience stores, fast food chains, a drug store, souvenir and clothing stores. Please note that if you step outside of the park to make use of these stores ( for e.g to buy a warmer jacket at The Gap) you will need to go through baggage inspection for your re-entry into Universal Studios.
The Universal Citywalk stretches from the park entrance to the Universal City Train Station.
Most of the city walk stores are open between 10am-1opm.
What are the fast food options at Universal CityWalk?
McDonalds
Did you know that instead of fries at McDonald’s Japan you can order a side of edamame and corn. My daughter LOVES it!
A reader of my blog also gave me such an amazing suggestion – you can order a McDonald’s side salad and mix it with the edamame and corn to make a slightly heartier salad for under 600 yen!
*side note: McDonald’s fries are not vegetarian/vegan – they are fried in beef fat.
