WHERE TO EAT & PLAY NEXT TO LEGOLAND JAPAN

WHERE TO EAT & PLAY NEXT TO LEGOLAND JAPAN

Just next to Legoland Japan in Nagoya, is a restaurant and entertainment area called Maker’s Pier.
You actually need to walk through this area to get from Kinjifuto Station.

TIP !  If you are looking for snacks to eat in your hotel before making your way to the Legoland Resort Hotel, I recommend visiting the convenience store right under Kinjifuto Station before heading there – as there isn’t a convenience store near Legoland (although there are vending machines for soft drinks, tea and water – of course.)
I’ve written about what it is like to stay at the Legoland Japan Resort Hotel here.

See here if you decide to go and eat back near Nagoya Station instead.

WHERE TO EAT WITH KIDS AT MAKER’S PIER?
*to be honest, we liked eating in this area a lot as the food at the Legoland Hotel was pretty bad.

Curry House Chain Cocoichibanya
It is open from 11am-6pm
I adore this restaurant that sells yummy Japanese rice with all the options for sides and spiciness.
I have written all about Cocoichibanya here.

Italian Pizzeria Marino Bambino
Open 11am-9pm (last order at 8:30pm)
The pizza was good and so reasonably priced.  To eat here I would budget for around 2000 yen per adult.  Meals all come with an all you can eat dessert bar too.
This restaurant has an English menu, a kids menu, space for strollers and high chairs.
The entire restaurant is non-smoking.
This pizzeria does accept reservations although we were fine just walking in for an early dinner around 5pm.
On lunchtime they also sometimes offer kid’s pizza cooking sessions – worth asking about it – they often run between 3-4pm on weekdays and between 11am-4pm on weekends.1650 yen per child.  Ask your hotel to make a reservation for you via the Marino Bambino homepage.

Japanese Noodle Restaurant “Sagami” (Buckwheat Soba Noodles, Udon and Tempura)
Open 11am-8pm (until 7pm on weekends)
Closed Tuesdays
Budget is around 2000 yen per adult, if you decide to dine here.   They do accept most major credit cards.   It is a non-smoking restaurant.
Most popular menu options here are cold buckwheat soba noodles, unagi (eel), sukiyaki udon and fried oysters.
They also have a kids menu.
See here for pictures of the Sagami menu and the kids menu.
The kids menu is so cute – it includes options like a mini kids sushi plate, a kid’s curry, a small hamburger patty meal and karage (Japanese fried chicken.)  They also have ice cream for kids – as a dessert.

Bakery Shop “& Antique”
This bread and sweets bakery is open 10am-8pm (until 7pm on weekends)

WHERE TO SHOP AT MAKER’S PIER NEAR LEGOLAND JAPAN?
We had a great time shopping at a gift / toy shop called Sylvanian Family Mori no Ouchi (Sylvanian Family Forest House) .
We bought a beautiful big puzzle to take home. It is open 10am-7pm and is located just in front of the big fountain.
